I am a graduating senior at Bowie State University in Bowie, MD, working to earn a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. I am seeking a challenging, yet rewarding marketing career that allows me to collaborate with cross-functional teams and apply the techniques that I have learned in the classroom to develop solutions in a corporate environment.
In my first semester of college, after taking my first marketing class, I began to question why consumers exhibit specific patterns of behavior. It was at that point I realized that in order develop a successful marketing campaign that resonates with consumers, I would need to understand why people make the decisions they do.
During my time here at Bowie State, I have been able to become involved in many different areas of the student experience. I currently serve as the Student Government Association Vice-President, where I advocate for all students on Bowie State’s campus. I am also a member of the campus Honors Program student, as well as a recipient of a full academic scholarship for the four years I have attended Bowie State. I have previously served as the Bowie State Representative for the White House Initiative Competiveness Scholars Program for the 2018-2019 academic school year. Lastly, I have served as a mentor for incoming freshman students as a supplemental instructor for the Bulldog Scholars Academy.
Some of the traits that I have developed during my time at Bowie include strong communication skills, the ability to work well in group scenarios/teams, and lastly my desire to complete any task that I start to the best of my ability. In addition, I am an individual that loves to be helpful to others, learn new things, and expand my mind and potential, especially in roles of leadership.
I believe that it is important to build within your community, and as a result enjoy completing community service projects in an effort to assist the people around me. Being that I am an animal-lover, and want to ultimately work within the pet industry, I regularly volunteer at my local animal shelter to provide service to the animals that live there. In addition, I enjoy tutoring my fellow classmates in English, as well as complete tasks within my internship that can allow me to affect change within my community.
This upcoming Fall, I will be continuing my educational journey within the MBA Graduate Program at Bowie State.
