Position summary

Consultants work on client teams to develop rigorous, high-quality economic or financial analyses and reports using a variety of programs including Stata, R, Python, SQL, and other packages. A Consultant contributes to all aspects of a project, from inception to completion. Consultants work with databases, spreadsheets, and other tools to analyze data and other information, create economic and business models, conduct research, synthesize facts, communicate with experts and clients, and prepare presentations and reports.

Consultants receive extensive formal training, continual learning and leadership opportunities, and ongoing mentoring from firm leaders. They work side-by-side with colleagues at all levels and backgrounds, from PhD economists to lawyers and MBAs. Consultants also participate in community programs, recruiting activities, and other firm initiatives.  

Qualifications

We seek individuals who are motivated by intellectually stimulating work, are driven and excited to learn, and exude strong teamwork and leadership skills. An aptitude for numbers, programming, and analysis, as well as strong communication skills, are highly valued. We also look for personal qualities that include creativity, independence, self-confidence, and tenacity.

An undergraduate degree is required, and candidates with any major may apply. Bates White values candidates from diverse academic backgrounds. While a technical background (e.g., training in economics, finance, computer science, etc.) can be helpful, it is not a requirement.

We are looking for candidates graduating between December 2020 and spring 2021 who could begin in 2021.
